Early this morning, Gabriel was searching frantically for something and he threw a fit when he couldn't find it. When I was rudely awoken by some jostling at the covers, I asked him what he was looking for. He whined, "My card." So I told him to go look at the table top near the door. He walk briskly over, took one look, then came back and hit me on my feet (through the covers) for asking him to look where there obviously wasn't any "card".
I stomped out of bed, grabbed his Dino Duel cards, walked to him, shook the cards in his face and then walked back to the door, opened the door and flung the cards into the toilet opposite our room door. Then I stomped back in and got back to bed. That's when the bawling started. He yelled so hard that he woke his little brother up."I want my cards, I want my cards....", he kept going on. "Then go and get them!", I shouted back from under the covers after a good 2 minutes of crying had gone by.
By then, I well and truly couldn't go back to sleep, so I had to discipline him for lashing out at me unnecessarily. I sat him down on the floor next to the computer and gave him a 5 minute time out. And that was when I saw his Autobot Jazz on my side of the bed. Apparently it got shoved under Mummy and after she heard all the fuss, she dug it. I put it on top of the clothes drawers and got back under the covers.
After 5 minutes, I went over to him and asked him why he hit me and he said it was because "you told me to look where it wasn't" and then he hit me with this question,"I said I was looking for my car. Why did you throw out my cards?" "What car?" "My Autobot Jazz."
Imagine my face.
I told him his car was on top of the drawers and I pulled him into bed with me. Then I hugged him and kissed him on his cheeks.
